Joy Tien is a 3D lighter working at BUCK DESIGN in New York, and a broad member of NYC ACM SIGGRAPH chapter in New York. She has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Art from School of Visual Arts. Her thesis film, TREASURE NEST, has won the Best Animated, 2015 Poppy Jasper Film Festival, Best Animation, 2014 Los Angeles Movie Award, and Best Animated Film, 2014 Sunscreen Film Festival WEST. It has also been screened worldwide and showcased in the exhibition documentary, What's Up Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones, at the museum of moving image in NY, 2014. Her professional skills include working as a 3D modeler, texture artist, visual designer, and storyboard assistant. She is proficient at texturing, shading, lighting, and look development in 3D animation production. She also has practical experience working internationally, such as Taiwan, Vancouver( SIGGRAPH Student Volunteer 2014) and San Francisco. As a visual artist, Joy enjoys bringing imagination to life. Her work emphasizes color, light and a positive spirit. She wants her work to allow viewers to escape reality into playful illusions.
