Dr Joshua Batty is a creative coder: artist and musician specialising in developing realtime interactive audiovisual environments. Josh co-founded the Rust creative coding framework nannou alongside his creative partner Mitchell Nordine with whom he runs MindBuffer. MindBuffer combines many disciplines to work at the intersection of art and tech including software development, music composition, sound design, interaction design, generative systems, lighting, visuals, industrial design, and robotics. MindBuffer has performed/collaborated with artists such as Robert Henke, Playmodes, Augmentl, and Rob Clouth, and have performed at festivals such as Burning Man (Nevada), Resonate (Belgrade), and White Night (Melbourne).
