DescriptionThis panel is a conversation about the historical contributions of Silicon Graphics as the company that put the graphics into silicon and brought the silicon to Silicon Valley. Subjects considered are related to the software, hardware, and culture that Silicon Graphics helped to shape. The panel is a collaboration with the Computer History Museum (CHM), which constitutes a unique learning opportunity considering the tremendous preservation efforts that this institution has done. Additionally, it is also relevant thematically as far the building where the CHM is located is the former headquarters of Silicon Graphics; in other words, the building where the CHM is placed is already a techno historical artifact.
