DescriptionLocomotion in virtual reality is difficult when the physical and virtual environments have different layouts. We present an algorithm that steers users away from physical obstacles during locomotion. Our algorithm leverages local similarities in the layouts of the physical and virtual environments to achieve improved performance compared to other algorithms.
