DescriptionBeholders can feel the imaginary movement from the brush strokes on visual artworks. We developed two interactive "painting" applications that enable the user to draw their perceived stroke movement on reference artworks. We've invited more than 260 testers to collect data on masterpieces from more than 20 famous artists. We've designed various visualizations of the data mainly differing in two quality indicators: fidelity and aesthetics. Fidelity prioritizes the presentation of the statistical characteristics, while aesthetics prioritizes the artistic re-creation based on the data. Our demo shows visualizations of the imaginary stroke movement of the selected masterpieces.
