Deb Polson
Biography
Professor Deb Polson is the Associate Dean of Digital Design in RMIT, Australia. Previously she was founder and head of the Department of Design at the University of Auckland, following a long career at the Queensland University of Technology. She is a researcher and independent designer, focused on exploiting unique aspects of new and old technologies to imagine the future of human experience. For over 20 years she has been an active member of both the design industry and academy in the fields of game and simulation design, experimenting and innovating in the vibrant intersections of art, design, and science in Australia, China, the US and UK. Recently she has been involved in developing AR/VR installations for art galleries, biorobotic mannequins, magic mirror virtual wardrobes, and mixed reality mobile experiences, among many other projects.
