Biography
Ken Perlin, a Computer Science professor at NYU, directs the Future Reality Lab. Research interests: future reality, CGI, user interfaces, education. He is a member of the ACM/SIGGRAPH Academy. He received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement, the 2020 NY Visual Effects Society Empire Award, 2008 ACM/SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award, NYC Mayor's award for excellence in Science and Technology, and an NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award. He was general chair of UIST2010, and a featured artist at the Whitney Museum. He received his Ph.D. in CS from NYU, and BA in theoretical mathematics from Harvard. He worked on TRON.
