Di Lu spent most of her early life in Qingdao, Shandong, China. It is here that she learned to convincingly tell comedic and dramatic stories alike. She practiced many different forms of art growing up, inspired by great comedians such as Xiangsheng, Manzai and Stephen Chow‘s, and also comic books and anime. She was drawn to Ringling’s animation program do to the technological aspect it provided. Successfully combining her story telling skills with the new found technological knowledge, she was awarded the Deans Scholarship from Ringling, followed by a Character Animation Internship in her Junior summer. Having completed her time at Ringling in the spring of 2020, she continues to work as a Character Animator and hopes to learn more about animation, and working in different styles throughout the whole production process.
