Darren Leigh has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a doctorate in Applied Physics from Harvard
University. His Ph.D. thesis was the world’s first on the subject of the search for extraterrestrial intelligence
(SETI). He was a Senior Research Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories in Cambridge,
Massachusetts where he helped to develop the DiamondTouch multi-touch/multi-user capacitive
touch interface. He is currently VP of Hardware at Tactual Labs Co. where he works on high-performance capacitive sensing systems and other human computer interaction technologies.
