Anton Kaplanyan
Biography
Anton is a research scientist in computer graphics, working on open problems ranging from perceptual rendering and machine learning for rendering to low-power real-time and cloud-based rendering for virtual and augmented reality. He did his PhD at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany with Prof. Carsten Dachsbacher. His primary research and recent publications are about machine learning in graphics, advanced light transport, image reconstruction, and shading methods in both real-time and offline scenarios. Prior to his PhD, Anton had been working as a game developer at Crytek GmbH on a cross-platform shooter game Crysis 2 focused on novel real-time rendering approaches, including the Light Propagation Volumes technique. He received his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics at National Research University of Electronic Technology, Moscow in 2007.
