Stelian Coros
Biography
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at ETH Zurich, where I lead the Computational Robotics Lab (CRL). I am also an Adjunct Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia in 2011. My work bridges the fields of Visual Computing, Robotics and Computational Fabrication.

My research interests lie at the intersection between character animation, physics-based modeling, computational fabrication and robotics. I have received numerous awards, including the National Science Foundation: Research Initiation Initiative Award (2016), Intel Early Career Faculty Award (2015), and Alain Fournier Award: Best Canadian Computer Graphics Dissertation (2010). I have served as a program chair for the ACM Symposium on Computational Fabrication in 2017 and for the 2015 ACM Symposium on Computer Animation.
