Mr. Simmons is OGC's Chief Standards Officer. In this role, he provides oversight and direction to the Consortium’s technical and program operations and deliverables. Mr. Simmons also continues to lead the OGC Standards Program, where he ensures that standards progress through the organization’s consensus process to approval and publication.

Mr. Simmons has worked in the geospatial industry for more than 25 years. Prior to that time, he worked as a petroleum geologist in various parts of the world... where he discovered the benefit of Geographic Information Systems.
