Biography
Michael E. Papka is a professor of computer science at Northern Illinois University and a senior scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory. He teaches and does research in the areas of data analysis and visualization and promotes collaborative technologies in support of science. At Argonne, he is deputy associate laboratory director for Computing, Environment and Life Sciences and director of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility. In these roles, he supports world-class programmatic efforts and research programs that are working on some of the largest scientific and engineering challenges in the world.
